Milan Day 3

Milan Day 3 - Freddy's Revenge!

Our final day in Milan. We both found the city much cleaner and more charming than we thought we would. Trying to pack in as much as we could in a few hours, we set out for the Milan Opera, the world's most famous opera house. Out of pure luck, we arrived when the orchestra was warming up and we were able to listen from the balcony.

That was a real treat (though the second violin was flat).

The opera house had a little museum with some crazy items like locks of hair from Mozart and Verdi as well as Liszt's piano (still in working condition too).

The museum also had lots of portraits, busts and pics of famous opera singers

With little time left before we had to catch a train, we went to an area called Porta Nuova. Long and short new cool buildings built with sustainable practices.

Time to catch our train to Reggio Emilia!!

Side note: you don't want to be a vegetarian in Italy.

  1. Interesting modern neighborhood. I could live in those apartments while eating my "vegetarian" Italian meals.
